LED LIGHT STRUCTURE

In a recent workshop, I dove into the world of light structures, challenging myself to let my creativity flourish using only copper wire and LED rods as my tools. My goal was to create a self-supporting structure that emits warm LED light, subtly dimmed by a layer of felt, with the ability to concentrate or spread the light source over a wider area by pulling the structure open 180 degrees. The result is a versatile table or desk lamp that is both functional and aesthetic. When the light source is opened, the light spreads like a fan, illuminating a wider area. But when the lamp is closed, the light is concentrated and takes the shape of half a lampshade.

This project, although only a prototype, represents an exciting journey of discovery in exploring the possibilities of light and materials. With only a week to explore and realise the concept, it was a challenging but extremely satisfying experience. This work is not only a reflection of my technical skills and creative vision, but also of my ability to conceive and implement innovative solutions within limited time and resources.
